    The Silver Comet Trail

    The Silver Comet Trail is a former rail trail that runs west and north through Georgia to Alabama and Tennessee. This trail allows bikers, joggers, walkers, and roller-bladers to enjoy the scenic route which includes amazing views of Heritage Park, a natural park that expands over one hundred acres.   The Chatahoochee River National Recreation Area offers a 48-mile-long trail along the Chattahoochee River.  There is year-round trout fishing and a 3-mile fitness trail suitable for walking, jogging, biking, bird- and wildlife-watching at the Cochran Shoals unit.  You can also participate in boating, canoeing, rafting, and in summer months, tubing.

    Vinings Jubilee is a centerpiece in the historic and quaint Vinings community.  It continues to be a place where friends & family connect to shop, dine, and celebrate the unique magic of Vinings.  If you’re in the mood for sushi, Hibachi,or Asian cuisine, Orient Express, located in an old railroad car, is a great place to go.  Old Vinings Inn offers classic Southern fine dining in an historic building.  With its award-winning menu and scenic views of the Chattahoochee River, Canoe is a local favorite.

    Atlanta is the largest city and capital of Georgia.  Known for its rich history, modern skyline, and flourishing economy, Atlanta has a multitude of choices for things to do.  Downtown Atlanta is located about 10 miles south of our community and is the headquarters to some nation-wide companies, including Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, Chick Fil A, and UPS.  If you’re interested in sports & entertainment, the Mercedes Benz Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium that is home to the Atlanta Falcons (Major League Football) and Atlanta United FC (Soccer) in addition to hosting superstar concerts.  The Atlanta-Hartfield Airport is one of the busiest in the world and can take you just about anywhere.

    Some other Atlanta attractions include Centennial Olympic Park, where the 1996 Summer Olympics were held, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park , and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum.  If you’re looking to expand your mind, you’ll find that Atlanta has some renowned institutions including Georgia TechEmory University, and Morehouse College.  Midtown and Buckhead are two Atlanta neighborhoods that are nearby and offer some unique experiences as well.Midtown is known for its business district and Buckhead is known for boutique retail and upscale dining.
